Google Testing Smart Phone “Offer” Coupon Expansion Ads in Paid Search

If you haven’t noticed a new test in Google AdWords for smart phones, you might want to read on. There is an interesting test going on that I noticed when conducting a search for Addidas. The concept is a “coupon” for smart phones, that allows you to email or SMS. Like location extensions, this new “offer” plus box can be expanded to reveal a coupon for the smart phone (aka high end mobile) user.

No official word if/when this will be released to a wider beta or introduced as a new feature. But it’s definitely an interesting concept!

Once the Offer Plus Box is expanded, the mobile coupon is displayed, and can be emailed, SMS, or just “show the screen” to the store to get your discount. Brilliant!

Stay tuned for more details as information becomes available. I can’t wait to see how this affects conversions!
